Spine Care PhysioYoga

About The Event
For those who suffer from either acute or chronic lower back pain, they know how debilitating it can be. But we also know that not all back pain is the same, both in presentation but also in origin. Movement to assist a disc herniation is very different than that of spinal stenosis or a spondylolisthesis.
Our Physiotherapists and Yoga Teacher co-creators have specialized training and understanding of all aspects, including the differences and nuances of back injuries and pathologies, as well as in integrative core control exercises (more than planks and bird dogs).
Supported through mindful movement including basic to advanced core retraining, stretching, strengthening and functional movements, and assisted through a variety of dynamic props, modifications and self care tools as needed, participants will gain:
- a sense of the physiology and psychology of pain, spinal biomechanics
- how to tune in to positive experiences in their body and mind
- a myriad of self care techniques including breath work, mindful movement and meditation
Classes are 60 minutes and limited to 5 participants for more individual care. Classes may be covered by extended health insurance plans under Physiotherapy if you are currently under active care.
